Yoga and Cleansing

Even modern science now believes that disease, decay and degeneration are due to the presence of free radicals in the body. But how are the free radicals created?

Free radicals develop due to the accumulation of toxins in the body. Toxins, themselves, are a product of our lifestyle, our diet, the environment and our emotional patterns.

With our unregulated and undisciplined lifestyle, the kind of food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and our emotional pulls and pressures, certain hormones are secreted that have a tendency to leave behind toxins.

The accumulation of toxins in our body is, therefore, natural. We CANNOT escape from this.

Yoga has a two pronged approach. In the long term it aims at developing attitudinal changes that prevent the build up of toxins through various practices and meditative techniques.

However, Yoga has very practical purification practices that aim at the detoxification of the body and mind. These detoxification techniques are a sort of cleansing that help the body rid itself of toxins.

These detoxification techniques, called Shatkarmas or Shatkriyas are extremely powerful in that detoxification work on specific areas of the body that have the maximum impact upon our health.

Benefits of Cleansing :

Breast Massage Reduces Breast Cancer Risk

A recent study of 4700 women found that women who wear bras have the opportunity to increase breast cancer. It is very likely that the pressure is constant (permanent and continuous) that put bras in the breast will restrict the flow of toxins that need to be removed, so this led to increased rates of cancer risk. The more the amount of pressure can push gently on the breast lymphatic blood vessels and stop the flow of toxins from the breast.

From the study it was found that the rate / number of breast cancer is highest in those who wore bras 24 hours a day, and number / number is the lowest in those who never wore a bra. The study suggested that women should wear their bra less than 12 hours a day.

Self care breast massage

Massage / massage gently on the breast would be beneficial to all women and reduce the risk of breast cancer. Squeezing, massaging the breast with gentle to moderate massage, scrubbing / wiping, and squeezed by hand, it is sufficient to induce increased lymph and blood flow to the breast.

How to do it?

Breast can be kneaded and squeezed to form a bond between the palm and fingers of the hand (somewhat like a handshake) or the breast can be rubbed and stroked the breast using the palm and fingers using gentle pressure to moderate pressure.

Women’s breasts vary greatly in texture and sensitivity to pressure. Therefore, gentle caress better for those who are sensitive or have softer breasts. The pressure is probably more effective for those with firmer-textured breasts.

This procedure must be done at least twice a week. This can be done with bare skin, but you could probably use some vegetable oil to make it more comfortable (do not use mineral-based oils or scented).
